Empowering Women In Leadership: The Wonder Women Conference 2025

The Wonder Women Conference 2025, held on September 26th at BFI Southbank, brought together over 20 trailblazing female leaders, creatives, and on-screen talent from across the TV, film, and creative industries. This annual flagship event, hosted by Wonder Women CIC, a pioneering women's network that champions the elevation of diverse women into senior leadership, aimed to inspire, provide industry insight, and empower attendees (Advanced Television, 2025). The one-day programme featured four dynamic panels, including "Women at the Top in Film," "TV, Warner Bros Discovery Access UK," "How to Rise: Everything I've Learnt," and "Positive Disruptors," alongside a Leadership Masterclass with Remi Olajoyegbe and a fireside chat with broadcaster and author Anita Rani. During the fireside conversation with Wonder Women founder Ria Hebden, Anita Rani reflected on the importance of diverse representation and the challenges faced by women in media.

She emphasized that while getting through the door is one thing, retaining careers and moving through the ranks is a significant difficulty due to subconscious bias and existing structures (Advanced Television, 2025).

The Women in Leadership Conference has become a beacon for female empowerment, bringing together accomplished leaders and change-makers from diverse industries to share their experiences, insights, and strategies for success. As a platform for women to connect, learn, and grow, the conference has fostered a community of like-minded individuals who are passionate about driving positive change and promoting gender equality in the workplace.

According to a report by McKinsey & Company, companies with a higher proportion of female leaders are more likely to outperform their peers, with women holding 21% of executive and senior-level positions in these organizations (McKinsey & Company, 2020). The conference features a range of high-profile speakers, including CEOs, entrepreneurs, and thought leaders, who share their stories of overcoming obstacles and achieving success.

These women serve as role models, inspiring attendees to pursue their goals and ambitions, and providing them with the tools and resources needed to overcome the challenges they face.
As noted by a study published in the Harvard Business Review, women who have access to mentors and role models are more likely to advance in their careers and achieve leadership positions (Harvard Business Review, 2019). By providing a platform for women to connect with each other and with successful leaders, the Women in Leadership Conference aims to accelerate ← →
